INTRODUCTION
India is in it’s third phase of vaccination drive. Initially the vaccination process was opened up for doctors, nurses and front-line workers and then for the people above the age of 45 years and now all the citizens between the age of 18 and 44 can get themselves immunized in the country. So you first have to register yourself on the Government’s official website called CO-WIN using your ADHAAR CARD, PAN CARD, PASSPORT or any such identity proof and then you have to book an appointment to get your vaccine shots.
So when you get your first dose of vaccine, you get a provisional VACCINATION CERTIFICATE and when you receive your second dose of vaccine you get a final digital vaccination certificate.
WHAT IS A VACCINATION CERTIFICATE? & WHY DO YOU NEED IT?
Imagine you have received both the doses of Covid-19 vaccine but can you prove it?… Thats when this vaccination certificate will help you. It’s an official document issued by the Government of India that proves you have been vaccinated.
WHAT INFORMATION DOES THE VACCINATION CERTIFICATE HAVE?
It has a 13 digit beneficiary reference ID using which you can see all the details including
- The name of the vaccine you have received.
- The person who vaccinated you.
- The place and the date where you were vaccinated.
- This vaccination certificate will help you in travelling purposes or maybe at your workplace. You can download it via AAROGYA SETU app or Government’s official website CO-WIN and then save it on your phone or computer.
- Some people are receiving the physical certificate at the time of getting vaccinated, but some have to download it online.
DOWNLOAD VACCINATION CERTIFICATE THROUGH CO-WIN WEBSITE
Now let’s see how you can download it using CO-WIN WEBSITE.
STEPS:
- First open your browser ( Google Chrome is convenient) and just search www.cowin.gov.in on your phone or laptop and tap on the yellow box, register sign in yourself right at the top.
- You will be taken to another webpage, where you need to enter your mobile number, the one that you used to register yourself for vaccination.
- Then tap on get OTP, once you get the OTP enter it and then you can see all the details of your dose here, you will now see a certificate button just below DOSE 1 and DOSE 2.
- If you have received only first dose, tap on the certificate option right below DOSE 1. But, if you have received the second dose also the you will find the certificate option below DOSE 2, which will be the final vaccination certificate.
- On clicking that a pdf of the certificate will be automatically downloaded, you can then save it on your mobile phone or laptop.

STEPS:
- Open it on your phone and tap the vaccination option from the top.
- Enter your mobile number and click on proceed to verify. You will get an OTP, type that and tap proceed to verify.
- Tap on the GET CERTIFICATE icon under action and download the file.
- After downloading you can then save it on your phone or computer or perhaps take a printout for future purposes.
