INTRODUCTION
Today we are going to review the new Samsung’s midrange 5G smartphone that is SAMSUNG GALAXY M42 5G. This is the most affordable Samsung 5G smartphone as of now in midrange budget. As you all know this is the first midrange 5G smartphone by Samsung. This phone is for those who use their phone very normally for daily purposes and for the people who prefer 5G smarphones.
UNBOXING EXPERIENCE OF SAMSUNG GALAXY M42 5G
- The box of this phone is very simple and comes with whute colour with SAMSUNG branding at the bottom and on the box at top samsung has highlighted the Smartphone name.
- If we break the seal and look in to the box, we get to see a pretty small sim ejector tool and with that we get to see some papers like Warrenty card, guide etc.
- In the box the phone is not wrapped or anything, but it is placed nicely, the phone has been oacked such that there is no chance of phone displacement.
- Apart from the phone we get a USB C type cable for charging.
- We get a normal Samsung branded charger of 15W inside the box.
PHYSICAL OVERVIEW OF SAMSUNG GALAXY M42 5G
- This SAMSUNG GALAXY M42 5G has a 6.6″ screen which is a SUPER AMOLED, but the screen is HD+ not FHD, this is very disappointing. They should have provided FHD screen.
- The phone comes with following colours, you can choose you favourite one.
- The back of the phone is made up of plastic, a sort of POLYCARBONATE PLASTIC, but this has that dual tone finish on the back panel, which is darker at the top and at the bottom we get to see that greyish tone.
- This phone has the QUAD CAMERA setup, about which you will get to know in later part of my blog in CAMERA SECTION.
- At the top of the handset there is a SECONDARY MICROPHONE.
- At the right side of the device we have a VOLUME ROCKER, POWER ON OFF button.
- At the bottom of the phone we get to see a main speaker which is VERY LOUD ENOUGH compared to other midrange Smartphones. We get a MAIN MICROPHONE at the bottom beside that we have a CHARGING PORT and a 3.5 mm HEADPHONE JACK.
- At the left side of the handset we get a SIM TRAY SLOT. We get the HYBRID SOLUTION, we can add two sims or one sim with a MICRO SD card.
- We get a battery of 5000 mAh, which is quite impressive because, we can expect the long battery life in this device.
INTERNAL SPECIFICATIONS OF SAMSUNG GALAXY M42 5G
- This phone comes in two varients, 6GB/8GB GBLPDDR4 × RAM with 128GB( UFS 2.1) STORAGE. Both varients have the same storage capacity.
- SAMSUNG GALAXY M42 5G is powered by QUALCOMM SNAPDRAGON 750G (8nm, Octa-core processor)
- This phones has 5G connectivity, it is supported with four 5G bands – N1/N3/N41/N78. This is very impressive.
- This Phone runs on latest Android version that is Android 11. And SAMSUNG has assured that they will leave a security update very soon and this phone will get Android 12 update in the following days.
- There is a Indisplay fingerprint scanner, which works quickly and efficiently responsive.
- NFC is available in this phone but, by default there will be no NFC in your quick toggles. You need to edit that thing in phone settings.
- This phone runs on the UI version 3.1.
- It has that typical Samsung UI, which is very smooth and simple.
- This phone has those Samsung application such as Samsung Pay, Themes, Notes etc. This has KNOX SECURITY.
- The total STORAGE this phone has is 128GB but its expandably. Out of 128GB the phone system and inbuilt apps occupy 20% ( 26GB) and rest 80% is free.

- This phone has the QUAD CAMERA setup.
- The MAIN CAMERA is 48MP(f 1.8)
- The SECOND CAMERA is 8MP(ULTRAWIDE)
- There are two 5+5MP cameras for MACRO AND DEPTH.
- The FRONT FACING camera is 20MP(f 2.2)
- The ULTRAWIDE Camera is very convincing because, we get very good ULTRAWIDE shots.
- We get that PRO mode in this device.
