TOP 8 MYTHS ABOUT SMARTPHONES

Hey people, welcome to my new blog.

INTRODUCTION

Today am going to talk about top 8 smartphone myths that people around us believe and I am going to bust them. I see people arguing about these myths in YOUTUBE and in some of ONLINE FORUMS. Am going to clear lots of things in this blog about the smarphones myths and help you people to know the true fact.

1)MYTHS ABOUT SMARTPHONE CAMERAS

More the megapixels on your smartphone, more the clarity in your photos, this is the very common myth which people argue about, and it isn’t true. According to some people smarphones with more megapixel cameras produce great picture quality, but in smarphones we have to realise that space available for smarphone sensors is very tiny and the manufacturer have to pack those pixels within that sensors, for example if a camera having a 12 MP camera it is actually having 12 million pixels and if you look at some smarphones which have 108MP camera it is actually having 108 million pixels in it. But yes if you have higher megapixels means you can zoom in a lot and get a pretty clear image compared to lesser megapixel cameras, but the advantage is that with the higher megapixel count, specially with smarphones because the sensor size is not that big in artificial or low lighting conditions, the cameras with very high megapixel count will suffer compared to other cameras for example if we take a I PHONE 12 which has a great camera, GOOGLE PIXEL 5A you’ll notice one thing very common is that these phones do not have higher megapixels in their cameras but inspite of this their picture quality is ultimate or can’t compare, that is because compared to higher megapixel count like 108MP, if you pack those may pixels on a sensor the size of the actual pixel gets smaller and smaller, because the size that is available is just limited and due to that the amount of light that can go to the sensor gets reduced. Hence, in smarphones, specifically in smarphones the pixel size is very important. Lately we have seen many of the smartphones vendors specially MI, SAMSUNG and even MOTOROLA moved from higher megapixels to lower megapixels and I feel that this 48MP cameras are the sweet spot as of now in the industry, the pixels are good enough they let in lot of light, that is the reason many of these cameras perform a lot better in artificial and indoor lighting conditions. Not only pixel size, the actual sensor, lens and all those things matter. Again this myth, higher the megapixels, better the camera is totally wrong.

2)MYTH ABOUT CHARGING THE SMARTPHONES VERY OFTEN

People say that we shouldn’t charge our smartphones very often. This isn’t true. Modern smarphones are running on Li-ion(Lithium ion) batteries and no need to worry, you can charge your phone very often. For example if your phone has 70 to 80 percentage of charge, you can charge it without worries. Infant I would say it’s a good idea to top up your phone’s charge frequently rather than completely depleating it.

3)MYTHS ABOUT BATTERY DRAINING

Another myth is that, you should drain your battery completely before charging. I suggest you please don’t do this if you are doing so because, it harms your smarphone’s battery, it is very bad idea actually to do it, don’t let your charge go below 15%. The myth that you should drain your battery completely before charging, it’s completely rubbish i would say. Do top-up your phone charge frequently, thats the good thing, nothing will happen. In fact thats good for the health of your phones battery.

4)MYTHS ABOUT YOUR PHONE’S CHARGERS

Use only the charger which you get in the box to charge your phone, ideally most people recommend you to use the supplied chargers to charge your smarphones, but if you are opting for budget oriented Smartphones generally what happens is that due to the budget constraints many of the manufacturers may be the Smartphone might support quick charging, they don’t provide a quick charger because, the cost of the quick charger is lot more, so in those circumstances you can actually charge your phone with THIRD-PARTY  chargers, but don’t buy the cheapest chargers which you get in EBAY and stuff, they are not good. You can buy tge THIRD-PARTY chargers of reputed brands like AUKEY, ANCHOR, ERD etc and if it’s QUALCOMM QUICK CHARGING certified you are safe to go. Also do note  that cable you attach to your Adaptor and Smarphone must be of good quality. Many people complain about the adaptors but, the problem may be the low quality charging cable sometimes. So buy a good quality branded cable.

5)MYTHS ABOUT CHARGING YOUR HANDSET OVERNIGHT

Can we charge our smartphones overnight??? Thats the very frequent question asked by many people. There is nothing bad in that because, the modern smarphones cut off the charger when it reaches 100% and causes no harm. Now-a-days we get SMART CHARGERS in which we can set the time for cutting off charge, you can just programme that.

6)MYTHS ABOUT DOLBY

Many think that phones with DOLBY support the sound output from the speaker will be magically very loud. That’s far away from truth, output of the speaker depends on the manufacturer, it depends on if it’s having a dual speaker or a single speaker setup. The only thing is that DOLBY would do is that, if your smarphone is DOLBY enabled is give you the surround sound experience.

7)MYTHS ABOUT NETWORK IN SMARTPHONES

If there is full network then you get speed data. It isn’t true at all because, in some areas where network is full but we won’t get the speed internet, the speed depends on the number of users there in that particular network on that cell tower and sometimes also depends on the network connectivity of the Smartphones.

8)MYTHS ABOUT FAST CHARGERS AND HEATING OF SMARTPHONES

Now-a-days Smartphone brands provide huge batteries in their smartphones with a fast charger in the box. Some say that using fast charger may affect your smarphone battery. It isn’t true because, if the brands are providing the fast charger with the phone then the smarphones is modified according to that. Smarphones get warmer or get heated but doesn’t affect the phone’s battery. Heating of the Smartphone while while charging is completely normal i would say because, the phones which are admired to be the best smartphones currently ( Oneplus 8, 8T, 9, 9 PRO) (IPHONE 12) also get heated when they are charged. The reason for heating of the phones while charging is  that we are pushing in lots of current in the device to make it charge quickly.
