POCO, formerly known as POCO by Xiaomi and Pocophone, is a Chinese smartphone company. The Poco brand was launched in August 2018 at a grand launch event in China as a mid-range smartphone line under Xiaomi. Poco India became an separate company on 17 January 2020, followed by its global counterpart in 24 November 2020.

Poco still sees India as one of the primary markets and is planning to make it a center-stage for future launches of their phones as well. You folks can consider buying Poco smartphones just because they offer good hardware, ultimate processor’s I would say and are being sold at a reasonable price tag.

In this very blog am going to review POCO M3 PRO 5G, it is referred as one of the most affordable mid-range 5G smartphone by POCO M3 PRO 5G. I am going to reveal my opinion about this smartphone. LAUNCH INFO – POCO M3 PRO 5G

Poco M3 PRO 5G launch was announced on May 19, 2021. The phone was launched official on May 22, 2021 and were available online. As the smartphone retails are not open due to lockdown in the country, the phones are available on online shopping apps and you can buy it from there. Poco M3 Pro 5G weight approximately about 190 grams. Which is pretty decent and it feels very lite in hands.

Build quality of Poco M3 Pro 5G

The build quality of Poco M3 Pro 5G is not great i would say because its back is made up of plastic, the frame is plastic made.

The front screen of the handset is protected by powerful Gorilla Glass 3.

Sim Tray

The sim tray is located at the left side of the phone. The sim tray has a Hibrid Dual Sim Slot. That is two nano sims or one nano sim with a micro SD card.

Type

This handset has a IPS LCD display with maximum refresh rate of 90Hz FHD+, its pretty good thing but they could have provided a OLED display instead of this LCD display. Having OLED display reduces the battery drain inthe phone due to on screen. If we talk about the phones brightness, it has a maximum brightness level of 500 nits (HBM)

The display size lf Poco M3 Pro 5G is 6.5 inches (102.0 cm²) approximately 83.7 % screen to body ratio)

Resolution

The screen resolution of Poco M3 Pro 5G is 1800 X 2400 pixels, 20:9 ratio.

Screen protection

The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

PLATFORM – POCO M3 PRO 5G

Poco M3 Pro 5G runs on ANDROID 11, and am pretty sure that the company would release ANDROID 12 update for this smartphone.

This phone has a typical MIUI launcher which is similar to redmi launcher. The drawback is that this phone also has junkware inside the phone as most of the Redmi smartphones do.

Poco M3 Pro 5G has a power chipset as always, this is actually a speciality of Poco devices.

It has a Media Tek MT6833 Dimensity 700 5G chipset, which is a power chipset for gaming and stuff.

• Poco M3 Pro 5G has a Dual LED, dual – tone flash.

• Poco M3 Pro 5G has the HDR option to enhance the image quality.

• Panorama option is also available.

Video Recording

The video recording using main camera of  Poco M3 Pro 5G is not great because, it can record the videos only with max 1080p @ 30fps resolution.

Poco M3 Pro 5G has a front facing camera of 8MP, with f (2.0) aperture. Using this camera the we can click wide angle selfies too.

SPEAKERS OF POCO M3 PRO 5G

Speaker quality is pretty good and they sound loud as expected.

There is a 3.5 mm headphone jack at the top part of the phone with a second ary noise cancellation microphone. The headphones jacks audio output is superb. This device has a main microphone at the bottom.

• WLAN – Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac with dual band support. This phone also has a support of Wi-Fi direct and hotspot.

FINGERPRINT SCANNER

Poco M3 Pro 5G has a side mounted fingerprint scanner, the response of the fingerprint scanner is pretty quick. You don’t have to press on the fingerprint scanner, just a touch will work. But if you prefer press to unlock, you can make it possible by changing the preference in the phone’s settings.

BATTERY OF POCO M3 PRO 5G

Li-Po battery with 5000 mAh capacity and it’s non removable, sealed inside the phone.

TESTS PERFORMED USING POCO M3 PRO 5G

• Display contrast ratio test: 1475:1, which is ok i would say.

• Loudspeakers test: -27.9 LUFS, this is great because it has a speakers which are very loud.

• Battery Life test: Endurance rating was 121 hours.
